We have been in constant contact with Cambridge International Examinations throughout the year, and have had two visits from Mark Barber, the senior manager for Southern Africa. The first was an informal meeting with Mark and our teaching staff where we confirmed that our syllabuses and methodology areCambridge aligned. The second involved a Cambridge Information evening, mentioned above, where Mark presented and took questions from our parent body.
On the 17 August 2016, we had an official Cambridge Inspection by Mark Barber to assess Canterbury Preparatory School’s progress and to ensure that we are on track for our final approval.
As of August 2016, our application is still pending due to a hold up with Johannesburg City Council over rezoning. We have been, and continue to be, in constant and open communication with the Johannesburg City Council and the Gauteng Department of Education. Our rezoning is in the final stages. Once complete, our GDE registration will be finalised whereupon the Cambridge registration will be completed within 24 hours. All registration fees have been paid and preliminary assessments completed. All relevant bodies are aware of our situation and are kept up to date.
We will update you on our progress on a regular basis.
