My name is Michelle Bird. I have 20 years experience with Grade 0’s and Grade 1’s. I have my Remedial diploma and have taught in an Assisted learning school. I am kind and loving but firm. I teach in a fun way, developing a solid foundation to build upon. I love what I do.

I am Leigh Chalmers. I’m so excited about being the member of the Canterbury Preparatory family. Wife and Mother of two, Oumie of two grandchildren. I am passionate about teaching, reading and all things handmade. I am so excited about this new adventure and the great new family at Canterbury.

I am a mother of four amazing children who continue to teach me important lessons in life. I am an idealist, but my children have certainly grounded me in being more practical. I thoroughly enjoy visual arts and am enchanted by the creativity of people. God is my greatest inspiration. My vice … is cupcakes, I simply can’t resist them!

As a young, recently graduated teacher, I have a head full of ideas and inspiration to bring to my classroom! It is my goal as a teacher to encourage and grow the love of learning within my students. I am qualified in the Natural and Life Sciences, and teach a variety of other subjects as well. I enjoy bringing my passion for our natural environment, into the classroom.

I have been teaching Biology, Science and Computers for over 20 years and had the wonderful opportunity to have some international experience. Teaching is my passion and part of my goal as educator is to spark curiosity in the minds of students. I look forward to working with new students in the classroom to facilitate their exploration, discovery and learning.
I’m Pixie Mountjoy and I have 30+ years of school experience and have loved all my years of teaching and being part of educating children. I have been involved in many aspects of school life. I am passionate about sport and physical education and hope to make a difference in the lives of the young children I will be working with.

Now, as Art teacher at Canterbury Preparatory High School, I am lucky enough to have the best job in the world. To be surrounded by the creative talents of my students, in a small, nurturing and stimulating environment, makes every day unique and rewarding.
